Others refers to difference, to the encounter with what is foreign, unfamiliar, and transformative. In this exhibition, Alfredo Moreira da Silva reflects on travels that expanded his vision, bringing distant cultures into dialogue with his own creative practice. Others are not merely outsiders, but mirrors that reveal aspects of ourselves through contrast. The works evoke journeys, shocks, discoveries— experiences where beauty and strangeness coexist. They remind us that every culture is unique, yet all face common challenges, from environmental pressures to the spread of global habits. Others becomes an exploration of diversity and sameness, a meditation on what separates and unites. The series suggests that art is strengthened by openness, that difference is not a threat but an invitation. In meeting the other, we meet ourselves anew. These paintings affirm that wonder still exists even amid disruption, that every encounter has the power to transform. Others therefore becomes a testimony of curiosity and empathy, a record of moments when distance collapses and new understanding emerges, when what first appears foreign becomes part of a shared and interconnected human story.
